Sy Ray

Chief Operating Officer , Virnous Corporation

Sy Ray began his career in 1995 as a sworn law enforcement officer in Arizona. Over the course of his service, he held roles as a SWAT operator and Homicide Sergeant, and directed fugitive missions with a primary focus on advanced cellular tracking and investigative techniques. In 2010, Sy deployed to Afghanistan as a field advisor for an undercover team targeting improvised explosive device (IED) cells, before returning to the Gilbert Police Department where he completed his retirement in 2014.

A number of Sy's cases and work product have been featured on 48 Hours, 20/20, The Discovery Channel, and Dateline, reflecting the depth and profile of his investigative career.

In May of 2014, Sy founded ZetX Corporation, which led the industry in RF tracking, geolocation mapping, and law enforcement training. Over the course of his tenure at ZetX and following its acquisition by LexisNexis in 2021, Sy developed one of the most extensive Subject Matter Expert records in the field — consulting on thousands of cases and testifying as a qualified expert in geolocation investigations more than 150 times in State and Federal courts across the United States.

In 2025, Sy began authoring The Truth Line: Behavioral Fusion and the Validation of Evidence, a modern investigative discipline for the digital age, due for release in Spring 2026. That discipline serves as the intellectual foundation for Virnous Corporation, where Sy serves as co-founder. Virnous is a software, training, and consulting company purpose-built for criminal justice professionals with a focus on complex criminal investigations.
