T/DCI Julie Henderson
Julie Henderson is a Temporary Detective Chief Inspector working in intelligence within the Metropolitan Police Service. She has been a cop for 17 years and throughout this time has worked in a variety of operational roles. Julie is currently responsible for the development and roll out of Tread Finder across London as well as taking care of 24/7 Intelligence and Open Source departments supporting serious and organised crime. Julie is considered a subject matter expert on footwear intelligence, is currently completing a Masters at Cambridge and is to commence a PhD this year. Julie is an expert advisor to the FBI and has presented in the USA, Europe and across the UK. In June 2016, she was awarded the British Association of Women Police award for Excellence in Performance and in September 2016, received the International Assocation for Women Police award for Excellence in performance both in acknowledgement of her work on Tread Finder, the world's first technology of it's kind. Julie was only European police officer to be recognised internationally and is the first Metropolitan Police Officer to receive such distinction. Julie left school at 16, overcoming great adversity to forge a successful career. She is an incredibly proud wife and mother and runs marathon's and a smallholding in her spare time.
