Keynote Panel: The influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on collaboration in forensic science

The influence of COVID-19 on forensic science providers and practioners will form the basis of the final Keynote Panel on Day 3, featuring perspectives from leading experts from across the globe. This session will dive into the hitherto unseen international and inter-disciplinary collaboration in response to the pandemic, and contribution of the forensics sciences, and the lessons learned over the past 18 months, including:

  • Improvements in online training and what this means for accelerating global forensic science skills development
  • More frequent and sustained digital engagement leading to faster turnaround times in research and investigations
  • The long-term effects of the pandemic, what this could mean for funding and research, and how to adapt

This session will be led by the Director of the National Forensic Science Technology Centre, Kevin Lothridge.
